Retainer Fee

For all regular sessions, a $50 non-fundable retainer is required at the time of booking in order to guarantee your session date and time. Availability is sometimes limited so early booking is highly recommended. You may reschedule this appointment, provided you give us a minimum of 48 hours notice. Each client is allowed two rescheduling credits for their booked session. Any additional request to reschedule will incur a $50 rescheduling fee and must be paid immediately to reserve your new date. Rescheduling due to weather conditions will not count against your reschedule credits.


We accept payments via EMT, cash, money orders or personal cheque. Personal cheques must cleared before the order is processed, so please allow for 3-4 weeks if paying by personal cheque. All returned cheques will incur a $45 returned cheque fee.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that unplanned issues can come up and you may need to cancel the photo session. If that happens, we respectfully ask for your session to be cancelled as soon as you are aware that you will not be able to attend your scheduled session. All retainer fees will be non-refundable to make up for the potential business that could have been booked in your place. If cancellation was not made with the photographer before your session time, Bellefontaine Photography has the right to refuse re-booking in the future. If CLIENT chooses to cancel after using their two rescheduling credits, the retainer fee is non-refundable and a new retainer fee will be due to book with Bellefontaine Photography again.          

Bellefontaine Photography has the right to cancel your session if, in the opinion of the PHOTOGRAPHER, inclement weather or other adverse conditions prevent the creation of a portrait meeting the artistic standards of the PHOTOGRAPHER. If Bellefontaine Photography cannot perform duties due to weather, act of God, or other cause beyond the control of the parties, or due to photographer’s illness or emergency, or any other reasoning, then the photographer shall refund the paid deposit fee to the client. Clients are also welcome to use the deposit to reschedule for another date and time. 

Weddings/Special Events

The retainer for a Wedding/Special Event is 25% of the chosen package and is non-refundable. The remaining fee is due the day of the Wedding/Special Event. If you cancel your Wedding/Special Event, you are no longer obligated to pay the balance of your investment; however, you forfeit the retainer.

Newborn Sessions

Since babies come into the world on their own timeline (regardless of due date), we do not schedule these sessions in advance. Please contact us once baby is born, and we will do our best to book you within those prime two weeks.
